War vets call for unity of purpose

The newly launched Zimbabwe Non Partisan War Vets Organisation has called all citizens to put aside their party inclination and focus on nation building.

Addressing journalists in Harare today a member of Zimbabwe Non Partisan War Vets Organisation, Karen Kazingizi called for an immediate stop to programs that destroy the country.

“We are therefore calling upon all Zimbabweans inclusively to put Zimbabwe first before any partisan agenda. We demand immediate stoppage of misleading partisan agendas and programmes for selfish ends. As Zimbabweans we have to unite and fight against these evil corruptions, theft of public wealthy and ethnic cleavages which have brought our nation to its knees, “she said.

She  urged political parties to stop corruption, theft, politically motivated violence and desist from dividing the nation to fulfill individual and party egos.

“Our nation must be united and everyone must uphold the interest of Zimbabwe first and fore most. Politicians and political parties must fight primarily to remove corruption theft, politically motivated violence and desist from dividing our nation to fulfill individual and party egos,” said Kazingizi.

She added that they are not pleased by the prevailing situation fueled by hyperinflation and political gimmicks’ which have caused the suffering of ordinary citizens.

“To political party leaders and their followers, we note with sadness your political gimmicks and all shenanigans, corruption, theft destructive individualism and self-aggrandizement that have brought our country to its knees. You know well this was not a racial war to replace white with corrupt black leadership using political parties and borrowed democracies to oppress and exploit our people,” she added.

Another member Wilbert Sadomba said as war veterans they are mandated to fight against all evils, for the nation to enjoy the highest level of freedom, economic prosperity and progress.

“In light of that role, we remind all sundry that as veteran freedom fighters, we are historically positioned, constitutionally mandated and duty bound to fight against all evils for our nation to enjoy at high levels of freedom and economic prosperity and profess, “he said
