Wildlife solidarity march for environmental justice

Advocates4Earth organisation director Lenin Chisaira has called on individuals concerned with wildlife, State institutions and international to come join the 600km wildlife solidarity march to raise awareness and funds to feed wildlife affected by drought, climate change and human encroachment, especially at Hwange.

The march whose dates have not been finalised will be from Harare to Hwange National Park.

Chisaira said: “As a wildlife and climate justice organisation, Advocates4Earth notes that Zimbabwe and most of southern Africa countries are facing drought, heatwaves, diseases and other related problems associated with climate change. Wildlife has not been spared, thereby leading us to place more emphasis in our campaigns for wildlife and environmental justice.”

“In our campaign, and with advice of ecologists and animal welfare experts from beyond the legal profession, we are alive to the immediate worsening plight of wildlife in the time of drought, climate change and human encroachment activities. We are planning on embarking on a WildlifeSolidarityMarch. The march will be a 600km walk from Harare to Hwange National Parks and will involve some people concerned with wildlife and the environment,” he added.
