TRANSFORM ZIM HAS NO APOLOGY TO MAKE

Newly formed political party Transform Zimbabwe (TZ) has castigated Zimbabwe Republic Police for enforcing unconstitutional laws.

The party’s interim leader Jacob Ngarivhume condemned his recent arrest in Gweru where he was charged for convening a public meeting without police clearance. Speaking at a press conference at the Media Centre in Harare on Friday, Ngarivhume said his arbitrary arrest by the police for violating Public Order and Security Act was out of order.

“Every person has the right to freedom of association but what meaning do these rights have when Zimbabwean citizens are being harassed, interrogated and arrested for exercising these rights,” said Jacob Ngarivhume. He added that his party makes no apology for successfully carrying peaceful membership recruitment drive as it was in accordance with the
constitution and laws of Zimbabwe.TZ president promised to soldier on despite the current persecution
his party is facing from the security agents.

Asked how his party was going to ensure that the country conducts free and fair elections in 2018, Ngarivhume said he is conscious of the election rigging that has happened in the past elections. “We will make sure that we have a representative from each and every polling station, plus we are a Christian party we believe the one who sent us cannot be cheated,” said TZ president.

According to the party interim President, Ngarivhume, Transform Zimbabwe was formed in December 2013 from Christian network group named Prayer Network Zimbabwe.
