The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) announced a substantial increase in fuel prices, sending ripples across the nation.
The new prices, effective immediately, reveal a surge in the cost of both petrol and diesel.
With effect from 5 March, the price of petrol has surged to US$1.68 per litre, a significant increase from the previous month’s price of US$1.64.
Similarly, diesel now sells at US$1.69, up from the February price of US$1.67 in February.
In local currency terms, the new prices are ZWL$26086.51 for diesel and ZWL$25,993.19 for petrol, a substantial hike from the February price of ZWL$18,265.37 for diesel and ZWL$17,887.82 for petrol respectively.
