ZDD convenes prayer meeting for Itai Dzamara.

Zimbabwe Divine Destiny (ZDD) in solidarity with the Dzamara’s family will this coming Saturday the 11th of July 2015 convene a prayer meeting at the Zimbabwe Grounds in Highfields following the abduction of Itai Dzamara on 9 March 2015.

Bishop Ancelimo Magaya who is the ZDD Executive Director said the prayer meeting was in line with their organisation’s mandate, sense of God’s calling and commitment to peace and tranquility in Zimbabwe at a press conference held at the Media Centre.

While reading his statement Bishop Magaya said, “As ZDD, we hold the view that Itai’s abduction does not augur well for peace and reconciliation in Zimbabwe. It is unfortunate that this has happened notwithstanding a newly overwhelmingly voted for constitution that is abundantly enshrined with Bill of rights”.

Bishop Magaya further went on to say the supreme law and what is being practiced was in divergence hence the need to call upon the name of the Lord and quoted a scripture from the book of Jeremiah 33 vs. 3 which says “call to me and l will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know”.

In his closing remarks Bishop Magaya extended invitation to all Zimbabweans from all walks of life to come together and jointly pray for peace, safety and security.

The prayer meeting will be held in collaboration with civil society groups, human rights and political figures such as Morgan Tsvangirai of MDC-T, Dumiso Dabengwa of ZAPU, Simba Makoni of MKD, expelled former vice-president Joyce Mujuru among others.

The whereabouts of Itai Dzamara remains a mystery 4 months after his abduction in March with the state security agents being alleged and held highly responsible for the disappearance.

Recently during a motion in Parliament the ministry of home affairs was asked to report progress on search but the Deputy Minister Hon. Ziyambi Ziyambi said they were still also unconscious of his whereabouts.
