Harare, Zimbabwe – The media fraternity in Zimbabwe is mourning the loss of renowned broadcaster Lucy Selemani Yasini, who passed away on Monday night at St Annes Hospital in Harare. Yasini had been battling illness for most of 2024.
With over three decades of experience in broadcasting, Yasini left an indelible mark on the industry. Her illustrious career spanned across several prominent media organizations, including Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC), South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), Channel Africa, and Voice of America (VOA) Shona and Ndebele.
Yasini’s contributions to journalism in Zimbabwe will be deeply remembered and cherished. Her dedication, expertise, and passion for storytelling inspired a generation of journalists and media professionals.
The media community, friends, and family are grieving the loss of this exceptional individual. Yasini will be buried at Glen Forest on Friday afternoon.
