By Wilis Moyo

Harare, July 1, 2024 – Media Institute of Sourthen Africa, (MISA) Zimbabwe is mourning the loss of its long-serving Administration Officer, Annie Musodza, who passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024. Musodza, affectionately known as “Madam Admin” and “The Matriarch,” was the heartbeat of the organization, serving for over 20 years.

Annie was more than just an administrator; she was the repository of MISA Zimbabwe’s institutional memory, knowing the organization’s history, culture, and values like the back of her hand. Her all-embracing heart, calm demeanor, and stubborn streak made her a beloved figure, earning her the title “The Matriarch.”

Musodza went beyond her professional duties, checking on the welfare of journalists, offering counsel, and keeping track of former interns. Her kindness, love, and dedication earned her respect and admiration from colleagues and friends worldwide.

MISA Zimbabwe Chairperson Golden Maunganidze described Annie as a life well-lived, fulfilling, and a legacy to be preserved. “The soul of MISA, Madam Admin, was loved and appreciated by those she interacted with for her unique and warm personality. She will be missed but not forgotten.”

Annie’s passing leaves a void in the organization, but her memory will continue to inspire MISA Zimbabwe to stay true to its mission, vision, and values. Annie will be laid to rest at Warren Hills Cemetery in Harare on 3 June 2024.
