As the country celebrated heroes’ day on the 12th of August, in recognition of the sacrifices made by the sons and daughters of Zimbabwe who fought against oppression and discrimination, the Friends of Reverend Ndabaningi Sithole Foundation (FORNS) still harbor the dream of having his name written in one of the prominent streets in Zimbabwe.
In the hope of recognizing his immense contribution to Zimbabwe’s liberation struggle, FORNS still believes that one of the days, a street will be renamed after Ndabaningi Sithole. The foundation hopes that the renaming of a street in Zimbabwe, will immortalize Sithole’s legacy and efforts in fighting for the country’s independence.
“As FORNS, we were delighted when the government conferred Reverend Ndabaningi Sithole with the national hero status, and we are still very hopeful that the status will be immortalized by renaming of a street after him,” said Silas Chawira, the Chief Operation Director for the foundation.
