Austin Chindeka of Zanu PF Aggrieved Voters Association

A National ZANU PF Voters’ Association, which claims to represent the interests of ZANU PF members aggrieved by the party’s recent primary elections has issued a 12 hour ultimatum to Ziyambi Ziyambi, the Provincial chairperson of Mashonaland West, to address voter grievances in Mashonaland West following the ZANU PF primary polls held last weekend.

Addressing journalists at Media Centre in Harare today, Austin Chindeka, President of the Association said unspecified actions will be taken against minister Ziyambi if he fails to comply with the ultimatum to address grievances of ZANU Pf voters in Mashonaland West. He accused Ziyambi who is also Justice Minister of vote buying and rigging during the primary elections.

“We need Ziyambi Ziyambi to urgently send an investigation team to Hurungwe and other parts of Mashonaland West to investigate what transpired during the primary elections”, said Chindeka adding that ZANU PF is going into the harmonised elections divided owing to the chaos that characterised the party’s primary elections.

“We are going towards general elections divided. Ever since we were born and since we have known ZANU PF this has never happened and we wonder if this is the same ZANU PF we know.”, said Chindeka who called upon President Emmerson Mnangagwa to immediately address grievances emanating from the ZANU PF primary elections.

The ZANU PF voters Association was formed as ZANU PF in December 2017 to promote voter registration among ZANU PF members. It has since changed its name to National ZANU PF Aggrieved Voters’ Association in view of the numerous complaints emanating from the ZANU PF primary elections.
