Lead from the front, Chamisa told

Michelle Chifamba and Chantay Ruswa

Harare – Timothy Mubhawu, a founding member of the Movement for Democratic Change and former Member of Parliament, has called on Nelson Chamisa, leader of a faction of the Citizens Coalition for Change, to come out of political hibernation and unite with other political leaders to drive progress in Zimbabwe.

At a press conference in Harare, Mubhawu quoted Bible scriptures and urged Chamisa to lead from the front, rather than remaining partially retired from politics. He emphasized that if Chamisa no longer wants to be an active leader, he should officially step down, allowing others to take the reins.

Mubhawu criticized Chamisa’s abrupt resignation, announced online, and his subsequent inactivity, except for posting inspirational scriptures on social media. He urged Chamisa to unite with other opposition leaders, elderly, war veterans, and the church to form a united coalition, stressing that without unity, nothing can be achieved.

Mubhawu believes Chamisa’s popularity can be leveraged to unite the people and bring about change in Zimbabwe. His call to action comes as a plea for Chamisa to take a more proactive role in leading the opposition towards a united and progressive Zimbabwe.

Chamisa’s response to this call remains to be seen, as Zimbabweans await a united front from the opposition to drive meaningful change in the country.
