Eddie Cross withdraws statement, offer apology to the First Family

In a shocking turn of events, Eddie Cross, a prominent Zimbabwean economist withdraws his statements regarding the endemic corruption that he alleges involves members of the first family.

The withdrawal and subsequent apology was issued after he was summoned to State House to explain his interview on Newzroom Afrika.

During the Newzroom Afrika interview, Eddie Cross categorically stated that President Mnangagwa is unable to tackle the corruption pandemic because members of his family are heavily involved in the looting of public funds.

“He has not tackled corruption in fact there is lots of evidence that his own family is deeply corrupt,” he said during the interview

In the statement offering apology, Mr. Cross reveals that he was asked by President Mnangagwa, in the presence of his three sons to provide evidence to the allegations of corruption which he says he failed to give.

The statement reads;
