CHIPINGE – Zanu Pf will launch its 2018 election manifesto and campaign strategy at Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) tomorrow as the party gears up for the upcoming harmonized elections. President Mnangagwa is expected to address allegations of vote rigging, violence and vote buying which characterized Zanu PF primary elections.
War Veterans and other party members feel perturbed after their preferred candidates were robbed of their votes during elections. In Chipinge South (ward 24), Enock Porusingazi surprisingly declared himself a winner when no one had voted in that area. This signifies lawlessness and use of force as voices of the citizens are silenced.
Chipinge district has raised alarm due to the fact that all 5 constituencies have a feeling that the primary elections were tampered with. Confirmed winners like Winmore Mlambo, Enock Porusingazi, Adam Chimwamurombe and Murire are alleged to be the architects of vote rigging and violence.
Party members are looking forward to the launch hoping to be motivated and empowered with satisfactory answers from the president himself, ‘the only answer to our grievances is ED himself. He must give us clear and satisfying answers on the fate’ said a war veteran.
‘If he supports those who claimed victory through rigging then it will cost him. We can’t fold our hands and watch someone discrediting party values’’ said a supporter who spoke on a condition of anonymity.
