Deputy Minister Gandawa remanded in custody

Deputy Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education Godfrey Gandawa was remanded incustody pending a ruling for his bail application at the Rotten Row Magistrate Court today.

He is expected to appear in court again tomorrow morning for the Magistrate to give his ruling on his bail application

Gandawa is facing charges of abusing and converting to his own use funds belonging to ZIMDEF, a parastatal that falls under his Ministry and that he is directly involved in overseeing. He face charges of abusing $400000.

Meanwhile Professor Jonathan Moyo who was also expected to appear for his court appearance did not show up as he had taken his matter to the constitutional court questioning the constitutionality of ZACC’s actions.
