CAN CAPS UNITED BREAK THE JINX?

By Philemon Jambaya

Caps United and Dynamos will have an early meeting this year as they lock horns in Sino-_Zim tournament on Sunday at the National Sports Stadium.

Since 2009, Caps United has failed to record a win against their city rivals Dynamos which Caps United fans being very optimistic that the game on Sunday will change everything especially with the arrival of their new coach Mark Harrison.

“This year is our year as the green machine family, it is our hope that Coach Mark Harrison will beat Dynamos for us this season,” said Tariro Dangwa a staunch Caps United fan.

In 2014 Caps United only managed a Draw against the Glamour boys out of all the matches they faced each other in the capital.

Caps United last won a competitive match against Dynamos in 2009 when Nyasha Mushekwi ran riot in Rufaro stadium.

The Green Machine is banking on capitalizing on the arrival of Rodrick Mutuma from Dynamos which Caps United fans have raised their hopes to win the game on Sunday.

“The Prince (Rodrick Mutuma) is here and we know what he is capable of, I believe that he will haunt Dynamos on Sunday,” said Tatenda Marara.

Dynamos is now under a new gaffer David Mandigora who took over from the record winning coach Kalisto Pasuwa who never lost a match against Caps United during his 4 years reign as the Glamour Boys coach.

Mandigora will also want to asses his new players who came from Caps United the likes of the controversial Domnic Chungwa and the nimble footed Kelvin Bulaji

Dynamos fans are not expecting anything except a win against a team, which gave them the championship last season.

“We only need a win on Sunday though the Caps United fans are expecting a win in a silver platter from us something which will never happen” said Bernard Muumbwa a Dynamos faithful.

Meanwhile Dynamos played an exciting practice match on Sunday and drew nil all with Chapungu United which the latter was trying to introduce the famous Spanish giants Barcelona tik taka game plan which failed to produce goals.

On the other side Rodrick Mutuma managed to find the back of the net yesterday while playing a practice match against a lower division side Cargo which sends clear message to the Glamour Boys that he might haunt them.
