Despite the passage of a new constitution in 2013 with an expandedBill of Rights that also include freedom of expression and the media, journalists in Zimbabwe continue to suffer at the hands of the state security.
The arrest and assault of a photojournalist, Angela Jimu who also corresponds for a local paper, the Zimbabwe Mail is a case in point.
Analysts have suggested that police officers are not keen to stand guided by the new constitution as they continue to abuse journalists on duty.
