A few days after the Zimbabwe Youth Action Platform (ZYAP), group of Zanu PF youthsaligned to the Mnangagwa faction called for the investigation into corruption in the Youth Fund by Minister Kasukuwere, another group under the banner ‘Children of Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association’ (CZNLWVA) have warned Kasukuwere and other senior members of the Zanu PF party and ordered them to apologise for ‘attacking’ war veterans.
The youths said they were not happy about Zanu PF National Political Commissar Saviour Kasukuwere’s reported statements where he is said to have said war veterans ‘drunkards and taxi drivers’ a few weeks ago, whilst they reprimanded Patrick Zhuwawo for dismissing war veterans as ‘fake’.
Ironically,their press conference was held at war veterans Minister Christopher Mutsvangwaa office who is also alleged to be a member of the Mnangagwa faction.
Mutsvangwa briefly came when the group leaders were addressing and requested journalists to live the place for five minutes.
“ As CZNLWVA we categorically warns those attacking war veterans, our parents whom the nation and us in particular hold with esteem, that any attempt to belittle their effort will be resisted by any means necessary’ read part of their statement.
“We therefore demand that the PC Cde Kasukuwere and Zhuwawo together with their misguided group of G-40 apologise to the nation and the war veterans….The PC (Kasukuwere) has used underhand conspiracies to cause havoc. The G40 resembles a post liberation manifestation of the Nhari rebellion that should be unmasked and decisively crushed from its roots” they said.
The youth led by their Chairperson, Innocent Mhlanga revealed that they would not allow ‘Professors’ and PHD holders to take over the role of war veterans.
“Whether you are a Professor or whatever title you have arrogated yourselves, there is no title that is worth of dignity than that one of ‘war veteran’. This is why war veterans can be professors and PHD Doctors but professors and PHD Doctors cannot be war veterans no matter how much they learn and read because they did not participate in the war of liberation” they said.
Professor Jonathan Moyo, Saviour Kasukuwre and Patrick Zhuwawo recently enrolled at the University of Zimbabwe and First Lady Grace Mugabe last year got a PHD Degree albeit under controversial circumstances.
“Finally we call upon the Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education (Professor Jonathan Moyo) and his team (G40) to focus on addressing various student concerns rather than spending time on twitter insulting senior leadership of the party members……We are afraid that Professor Moyo is fulfilling his goal and mission of destroying Zanu PF from within”
The group further blasted businessmen Philip Chiyangwa accusing him of being an ‘unrepentant sellout’ who is only after money.
“Unmasked, this G40 is a group of counter-revolutionaries and elements of traceable sellouts, with people like mentally unsound Philip Chiyangwa who was once charged of espionage and selling state secrets a few years ago, we remind him that Zanu PF is not about ‘cash’ and those who warship silver and gold are no different from the notorious Nyathi who caused the Chimoi and Nyadzonyamasscres that we will never forget. Zanu PF is no home for the unrepentant remnants of colonialism like Pilip Chiyangwa who is a former BSAP spy.
The group further revealed the nasty Zanu Pf fights saying they were not happy at Kasukuwere’s war against Harare Chairperson GodwillsMasimirembwa, Mashonaland West’s ZiyambiZiyambi and recent failed attempts on Biggie Joe Matiza and Manicaland’s Women’s League Chair Happiness Nyakuedzwa.
