Heroes welcome for young warriors

By Philemon Jambaya.
Zimbabwe Young Warriors received a huge welcome when they landed at the Harare International Airport this morning from Cameroon.
Young warriors drew one all with the young Indomitable Lions and subsequently qualified on a goal difference to the all Africa games to be staged in Congo Brazzaville in September this year.
More than 500 fans were gathered at the Airport to welcome the Zimbabwe Under 23 team.
The team landed down at the Harare International Airport at 0130 hours in the morning from Cameroon where they defied all odds to qualify for the prestigious tournament.
Hundreds of fans who were gathered at the airport were seen ululating for the young heroes.
Young warriors skipper Wisdom Mutasa could not hold his tears, as the considerable number of fans who came to the airport to welcome them mobbed him.
“I am delighted with the fans, it shows that the fans value us a lot and we shall continue to deliver, we don’t want to let them down.” said Mutasa
Young warriors head coach Kalisto Pasuwa who made his name as a player and a coach was impressed by the performance of the team.
“My boys performed very well and I am happy about that, I hope this is a new era in our football,” said Pasuwa.

Pasuwa commended the atmosphere that was created by fans that came in a considerable number to welcome the team.
“This shows that our fans are hungry for glory and we promise to give them what they want, we hope to bring the trophy home,” he said.
The West African countries are known for implying dirty tactics to frustrate their opponents and the young warriors were not spared from this behavior.
One of the ground which the young warriors were suppose to train at was occupied by other people who were training at the time which these young prayers were suppose to train at.
“We went for our training and we were astonished to see other people training at the venue, something which was just done to frustrate us,” said Young Warriors left back Ronald Pfumbidzai
The All Africa games are going to be staged in Congo Brazzaville. The last time Zimbabwe qualified for this tournament was in 1995 when Zimbabwe hosted the tournament.
Meanwhile our neighbors Zambia and South Africa failed to qualify.Friends Of the Warriors Information and Publicity officer Zivanai Muwashu said that the country must continue supporting the young warriors as they are going to make Zimbabwe proud in terms of football.
“The nation must continue supporting these lads through thick and thin as they are going to make all of us proud of being Zimbabweans, I say well done to the boys” said Muwashu.
